Andromeda Viability Points (AVP) represent the collective integrity of the colonization efforts in Andromeda. Earn AVP by scouting planets, making allies, defeating threats, repairing damaged environments, and other actions that make Heleus a better home. Earn enough AVP and the Nexus Level will increase, allowing more colonists to be awoken from cryo sleep. Which colonists the player decides to wake up determines what perks and advantages they will be able to utilize.
Cryo pod perks[ | ]
The cryo pods screen is accessed from the AVP Status Control terminal in Nexus Operations or the Research Room on the Tempest. Access to this terminal is given with the AVP Cryo Deployment Perks mission.
- Perks once chosen can't be reset so choose wisely.
- There are 28 possible pods, but only enough AVP for 24 perks to be unlocked during any playthrough.
- Subsequent New Game + playthroughs reset all cryo pod perks and allow different perks to be selected.
There are three types of cryo pods that can be opened:

Notes[ | ]
The interval for the five time-based perks is 45 minutes of active game time. Accelerated Research and Accelerated Mining reduce the interval for Lab Technicians and Mining Operations to 30 minutes of active game time.
Improved Development and Improved Development II do not affect research points gained from the Lab Technicians cryo pod perk, Task: Unearthed, Task: Gone Dark, or from scanning mineral nodes.
Financial Infrastructure provides 500 credits. Financial Infrastructure II increases the amount to 750 credits.
Grey Market Connections reduces purchase prices by 5% and increases sales prices by 25%.
Grey Market Connections II improves this to 10% on purchases and 50% more on sales. These perks also affect trades with Thrasia, Annea, the Blood Threshers Manager, and the Team Ryncol Manager.
Ears to the Ground only applies to Material Loot Boxes. Weapons may be based on Milky Way or Heleus technology; armor may be based on Milky Way, Heleus, or Remnant technology. The materials in the loot box will also be received, but the type won't be displayed in the Rewards collection window.
APEX Tactics and APEX Tactics II only apply to standard strike team missions that reward Credit Loot Boxes. There is no increase to MP Credits for multiplayer gameplay.
Market Dominance only adds additional items to the categories of goods that most merchants already carry. No new categories of items are added. Refer to each merchant for the items added by this cryo pod perk.
Perks dependent on planetary viability do not appear on the AVP Status Control terminal until Ryder has visited the relevant planet.
A small amount of AVP is available for free using the Tempest to scan anomalies. For a complete list of anomalies that give rewards, see Tempest Scanning Rewards.
