Audio logs are auditory information found throughout the Heleus Cluster.
Overview[]
Audio logs can be found on datapads, consoles and terminals, devices, and other objects.
Because this information is only transmitted in an auditory fashion, if closed captioning is turned off, this information can only be heard. There is no transcription of the information to read or review such as a datapad or a terminal entry. It should be noted that some audio logs can only be listened to one time and then the option to play is gone. Other audio logs can be listened to any number of times.
- Some audio logs have limited availability and can be lost, such as those present on Habitat 7 during Planetside.
- Some audio logs are part of specific missions, such as the Task: What He Would Have Wanted series and only appear when the mission is acquired.
- Some audio logs change content depending upon when they are listened to such as Dissension in the Ranks.
- Some audio logs are just left lying around where anyone can listen to them, such as the Dead Exile audio logs in the Haarfel region on Kadara.
- Some audio logs trigger missions such as the one for Old Skinner.
Each section gives details on the specific requirements and/or any findings about the audio log in question.
Eos[]
Blackrock Tande[]
These three audio logs play in a specific order that is always the same no matter which of the audio logs is played first. The final building location will be empty before the mission Dissension in the Ranks has been acquired. If Dissension in the Ranks is saved until after the Archon is defeated, the three audio logs will change content and the console will display a pre-recorded message.

Mysterious Speaker: [Audio Log] Exaltation lifted our ancestors out of sorrow and tribulation. Mysterious Speaker: [Audio Log] This noble gift now allows us to raise others, and share in the genetic bounty of this galaxy. Mysterious Speaker: [Audio Log] But the Archon would selfishly hoard what Heleus has to offer. —— Primus: [Audio Log] With the Archon gone, we are free to pursue what was intended, the exaltation of Heleus. I have re-established contact with the empire. The arrival of reinforcements will ensure the swift achievement of our goal. |
Mission Locked - Dissension in the Ranks
Mysterious Speaker: [Audio Log] The Archon does not serve kett interests, only his own. Mysterious Speaker: [Audio Log] He wastes our resources on the Remnant, but keeps all knowledge for himself. Mysterious Speaker: [Audio Log] These are the acts of a traitor, not true kett. —— Primus: [Audio Log] With the originator of our conflict gone, we can once again be a united people. We will mend the rift, by adhering to the true kett way. |
Mission Locked - Dissension in the Ranks
Mysterious Speaker: [Audio Log] The Archon believes that Meridian will bring him power. Mysterious Speaker: [Audio Log] He will become the master of the Remnant. Its sole master. Mysterious Speaker: [Audio Log] Once Heleus submits, where does the traitor turn his gaze? Think. Understand. Our home is in peril. —— Primus: [Audio Log] Do not be swayed by those who still repeat the Archon's ideas. He cast aside tradition, and he was destroyed. As will all who are sympathetic to his opinions. |
Mission Locked - Dissension in the Ranks
Primus: [Audio Log] We have no use for those who echo the Archon. Adhere to the kett ways, or be discarded. The purge has only just begun. | Mission Locked - Dissension in the Ranks If Dissension in the Ranks is completed after Meridian: The Way Home, an audiovisual log replaces the exchange with Primus on the console. |

Zed Wilcox: [Audio Log] Sandstorms. Radiation. What the hell was Addison thinking sending us here? Zed Wilcox: [Audio Log] Eos might've looked great back in the Milky Way—but up close, it's a hellscape. Zed Wilcox: [Audio Log] Farthingale's on my case to stay positive. Put on a brave face for the rest of the team. Zed Wilcox: [Audio Log] But I can't shake the feeling that I'm going to die out here. |

Milky Way departure —— Ryder Sr.: The day is finally here. We're pushing off from Earth. Ryder Sr.: We'll jump through a few relays first, then we hunker down for the long trip across dark space. Ryder Sr.: It's daunting, thinking about all the hopes and dreams aboard the Hyperion. I certainly have my own. Ryder Sr.: I wasn't the husband or father I should've been. Here's hoping 600 years can change a man. |
Mission Locked - Ryder Family Secrets
Dr. Liara T'soni —— Ryder Sr.: SAM, this is a reminder about Dr. Liara T'Soni—she's an asari archeologist I corresponded with a few years back. Ryder Sr.: She's got experience studying ancient cultures. Make sure the team gets her research. Could be useful in Andromeda. |
Mission Locked - Ryder Family Secrets
Dr. T'Soni Message #1 —— Dr. T'Soni: Hello, Alec—this is Dr. T'Soni. I'm flattered you contacted me. Most scientists dismiss my work. But I'm young and asari, and they're getting older, so we'll see who has the final word. [Laughs.] Dr. T'Soni: In the meantime, I'm happy to pass along my research. I hope your team finds it useful. |
Mission Locked - Ryder Family Secrets
Dr. T'Soni Message #2 —— Dr. T'Soni: Hello, Alec. I received your message. I must say, the thought of exploring another galaxy has my head spinning. Dr. T'Soni: I'm honestly not sure how people could survive a trip like that. And anyway, I couldn't bear to leave the Milky Way behind. Dr. T'Soni: There is so much about the Protheans I still hope to learn here, so much wisdom to tap. I wish you much good luck and future success. |
Mission Locked - Ryder Family Secrets
Final entry —— Ryder Sr.: Dunn's agreed to a scouting mission on Habitat 7. I'm gearing up now. Ryder Sr.: I'm worried about [Sara/Scott]. Dr. T'Perro says [she'll/he'll] be fine, but... [she's my daughter/he's my son]. How can I not worry? I hate to leave [her/him] like this. Ryder Sr.: It's these moments when you wish you'd told your children you loved them more often. Or ever. Ryder Sr.: Which brings me to the tough part: Kids, if anything happens to me, there are... things you're going to find out. I hope you'll understand. |
Mission Locked - Ryder Family Secrets
Ellen's disease —— Ryder Sr.: Amazing how life can change in an instant. Suddenly my career doesn't matter. Ryder Sr.: This incredible woman I've been married to all these years... she's facing the end. Ryder Sr.: All I think about are the times I wasn't there for her. Well, that's going to change—it occurs to me that SAM might be more than I ever imagined. |
Encrypted Log #1 - Ryder Family Secrets
Ellen's research —— Ellen: Give me that, Alec. We've heard enough of you talking. Ellen: Right. So, here's the irony: My research on biotic implants and eezo caused this stupid disease. But maybe it'll save me, too. Ryder Sr.: No, "maybe" about it. Ellen: Hey, this is my secret log. Anyway, the right type of implant, joined with the right type of AI, could actually bolster human physiology. Ellen: Even as the disease is trying to kill me, the implant and SAM are counteracting it, keeping things balanced. Ellen: Result: I get to stick around a little longer. Maybe collect on all those anniversary dinners this guy owes me. |
Encrypted Log #2 - Ryder Family Secrets
The geth mistake —— Ryder Sr.: As a quarian and historian, how do you view you people's reaction to the geth? Quarian Historian: Well, we banned artificial intelligence, which is understandable—but that was taking a hammer to a rather delicate nail. Ryder Sr.: Which was what? Quarian Historian: The very thing that sparked their revolt: The first geth who asked us, "Creator, does this unit have a soul?" Quarian Historian: But how could it have a soul? Geth had no meaningful perceptions of the world or diversity of experiences we take for granted. Quarian Historian: Worse, the geth saw us as "the creator." The revolt was inevitable. We were their superiors... and they resented it. |
Encrypted Log #2 - Ryder Family Secrets
Shadow Broker deal —— Shadow Broker: Ryder, Barla Von said you're looking for me. It's not everyday that an ex-N7 looks for the Shadow Broker. Shadow Broker: Anything can be had— provided you can pay. Especially when the tech involves artificial intelligence. Shadow Broker: The Council will have Spectres all over my ass if they catch wind of this. Shadow Broker: Translation: I'll get you the code you want, but the price just doubled. Shadow Broker: If you try to renege, I've got people. People with guns. |
Encrypted Log #2 - Ryder Family Secrets
Meeting with benefactor —— Ryder Sr.: I had a strange meeting yesterday: I thought it would be with Jien Garson, who founded the Initiative. But it wasn't. Ryder Sr.: I guess Jien's the visionary. the one who gets everyone excited about the project and drums up publicity. Ryder Sr.: But then this "benefactor" apparently provides resources and money. And I mean a lot of money. Ryder Sr.: It's a little unusual, but everything about this project is. |
Encrypted Log #3 - Ryder Family Secrets
Accepted the offer —— Ryder Sr.: I accepted the Initiative's offer. They're calling me a "Pathfinder." There's no other option left—SAM will never happen without their help. Ryder Sr.: Our savings are gone and no one will return my calls. I'm a pariah. There's something strange going on with this benefactor, but... Ryder Sr.: Ellen's getting worse. I can't fail her. |
Encrypted Log #3 - Ryder Family Secrets
Milky Way emergency —— Ryder Sr.: We've just arrived in Andromeda. Before the rest of the Hyperion wakes up, I've checked our comms for any signals from the Milky Way. Ryder Sr.: Looks like sometime in 2186, everything went to hell. We got out just ahead of it. Ryder Sr.: Commander Shepard was right. And so was out mysterious "benefactor." |
Encrypted Log #4 - Ryder Family Secrets
The benefactor / Message from Jien Garson —— Garson: Alec, this is Jien Garson. For the record, Year 2185. It's about "Fulcrum." Garson: I'm on the Nexus, and we're going into stasis for the voyage. Looks like you're already asleep. Garson: I'm very uncomfortable with our "benefactor," and the fact that we still don't know who they are... and all these lives in our hands. Garson: I should've done something sooner. This is all very troubling, Alec. Let's talk as soon as you reach Andromeda. |
Encrypted Log #4 - Ryder Family Secrets
Message to Jien Garson —— Ryder Sr.: Jien, I got your message about "Fulcrum." It's now 2819. We reached Andromeda, but have no signs of the Nexus. I have the same concerns as you. Ryder Sr.: In all likelihood, the Milky Way... well, something terrible happened there. At least the benefactor spared us from that. But why keep hiding? Ryder Sr.: Something's off. But we've got bigger problems at the moment—Habitat 7 may be a bust. Finding a home is all that matters now. |
Encrypted Log #4 - Ryder Family Secrets
Turian S.O.S. —— Turian Officer: [Static.] ...this is Palaven Command to all turian units within range! Turian Officer: [Static.] ...under catastrophic Reaper attack! Primarch Fedorian is dead... ground units are searching for the next in succession! Turian Officer: Will advise when—everybody get down! Turian Officer: [Reaper ship attack noise.] |
Encrypted Log #4 - Ryder Family Secrets
Alliance S.O.S. —— Automated Voice: [Alarm blares.] Alliance personnel, please stand by for an emergency flash-traffic message. [Alarm blares.] Alliance Officer: This is a galaxy-wide alert for all human territories. Fleet Admiral Steven Hackett has declared Threat Condition Sabre One. Alliance Officer: Enemy presence confirmed in Sol system. Earth under Reaper attack. I say again: Reaper attack is underway. Alliance Officer: {Static.] ...further instructions to follow on coded channel Crimson Tacit. Alliance Officer: May God save us. [Static.] |
Encrypted Log #4 - Ryder Family Secrets
Liara T'Soni transmission —— Dr. T'Soni: Hello, Alec. This is Liara T'Soni, and the year is 2186. I don't know if you'll even receive this message, but we corresponded years ago. Dr. T'Soni: I remember you spoke about a plan to settle Andromeda. I don't know if your arks made it out of the Milky Way but... the worst has happened here. Dr. T'Soni: I'm with Commander Shepard and a brave crew. We're trying to build a weapon to turn the tide, but... Dr. T'Soni: I fear that the civilization that you remember, the people of the Milky Way as you knew them, could be gone forever. Dr. T'Soni: You may be all that's left. Please, don't forget us. Keep us alive in your hearts, and tell your children of the wonders that once were. Dr. T'Soni: On behalf of the crew of the Normandy SR-2, this is Dr. Liara T'Soni signing off. |
Encrypted Log #4 - Ryder Family Secrets
Other Logs —— Ryder Sr.: I'm securing these Milky Way reports. This is the only copy, and I don't want it getting out. Ryder Sr.: Whatever happened was 600 years ago. Someday we might break the news to everyone, if the time's right. Ryder Sr.: I guess we always knew there was no going back. |

These three audio logs play in a specific order that is always the same no matter which of the datapads is interacted with first. Once a datapad has been listened to, the audio log that plays is fixed to that datapad. Also, they aren't available until you've listened to the General Log/Asari Archaeologist branch of entries on the Archive System and SAM adds Dr. T'Soni's notes to the datapads.

Dr. T'Soni: I'm Dr. T'Soni, and I've spent several decades researching ancient Protheans. Dr. T'Soni: It's common knowledge that the Protheans were an advanced race that flourished in the Milky Way about 50,000 years ago, then went extinct. Dr. T'Soni: Even at the time of this writing—the year of 2182—their culture remains a mystery. Dr. T'Soni: During my studies, I've developed some practices that can be used when analyzing any ancient culture. I hope they may prove useful for the research community. |
Mission Locked - Ryder Family Secrets
Dr. T'Soni: When studying a dead race, the most obvious problem is the lack of an observable population. Dr. T'Soni: This raises the question: When is a species truly extinct? Dr. T'Soni: The Prothean civilization spanned the galaxy, and it took centuries to confirm that all members of the species really had died out. Dr. T'Soni: While it's possible that living Protheans may be found in a hidden pocket of the galaxy one day, the chances are statistically trivial. Dr. T'Soni: Once an extinction is confirmed, the study's nature moves from sociology to exo-archeology. |
Mission Locked - Ryder Family Secrets
Dr. T'Soni: When studying an extinct race, it's important that our preconceptions and current knowledge not color the facts. We must look to the evidence itself. Dr. T'Soni: The Protheans constructed the Citadel and an incredible network of mass effect relays. This speaks to a cultural of the highest order. Dr. T'Soni: Such a monumental achievement surely must come from an enlightened race that was in harmony with its people, free of conflict and strife. Dr. T'Soni: Without the ability to study a living example, however, this can never be determined with 100% accuracy. |

Garson: [Private] For years there was a silent partner involved with the Initiative. The truth is I was running out of money. Garson: [Private] Then a "benefactor" stepped in. I didn't ask questions. I never met them face-to-face. That was a mistake... I lied to everyone. Garson: [Private] Something big spooked them in the Milky Way, and now they're moving 100,000 of us to Andromeda. I hope it's all for the good but... Garson: [Private] I have my doubts. And now I think they're going to remove me. Garson: [Private] Alec Ryder and I had a codeword for this: "Fulcrum." He may have learned more. |

Peebee: [Audio Log] Hello—don't worry, I'm not springing anything terrible on you. Actually, you be the judge. Peebee: [Audio Log] So, you and your team are like a fungus, you know? You look and smell funny, and you grow in the weirdest places. Peebee: [Audio Log] And somehow, you've found root in my—oh, it's so corny to say... in my heart. Ugh. (Sighs) Peebee: [Audio Log] I'm recording this so when I get antsy—and believe me, I will—just sit my ass down and play it. A "shut-Peebee-up-free" card. Peebee: [Audio Log] Now, if there's anything you'd like to preserve for posterity, say it at the beep. Oh, and then join me in the meeting room? Peebee: [Audio Log] Um... Beeeeeeeeeeep. |

He will return to the path of right, or be destroyed. This is my promise. Mysterious Speaker: [Audio Log] An Archon stands tall only while we hold him up. |

Ibyl: [Audio Log] Father, mother, if I don't get to Techiix, I hope the Resistance finds this message--and you. Ibyl: [Audio Log] I love you both so much. I didn't want to leave you alone in that cave. Ibyl: [Audio Log] The kett are following me. They'll take me, just like Oren and Ulri. Ibyl: [Audio Log] What do they want with our family? Why is this happening to us? Ibyl: [Audio Log] I hear them. They're close. I love you... I love you. |

Relmoj: [Audio Log] Whoever hears this message, please... find our daughter, Ibyl. She was headed for Techiix. Relmoj: [Audio Log] The kett are hunting us. They stole our sons and daughters. Relmoj: [Audio Log] The kett followed us. I hear them outside. They'll find me and Eira. Only a matter of time. Relmoj: [Audio Log] Ibyl, if you ever hear this, we love you. Never forget that. Primus: [Audio Log] The Archon has ordered a complete inventory of the enemy vessel. Primus: [Audio Log] All equipment is to be broken down and analyzed at once. Primus: [Audio Log] The living specimens should be handled with extra care. |
Mission Locked - Hunting the Archon
Archon: [Audio Log] I'm told this specimen lays claim to a title. Moshae Sjefa: [Audio Log] Among my people, I'm known as "Moshae." Archon: [Audio Log] Here, you are nothing. Moshae Sjefa: [Audio Log] I am your enemy. Archon: [Audio Log] You serve a use. That is all. It's why you still live. Archon: [Audio Log] You will tell me what you know, or you will suffer. |
Mission Locked - Hunting the Archon
Moshae Sjefa: [Audio Log] (Gasping.) I told you… I've never seen… the relic before. Archon: [Audio Log] Pain will remind you. Moshae Sjefa: [Audio Log] (Pained reaction.) Archon: [Audio Log] A final time: how does Meridian work? Moshae Sjefa: [Audio Log] I don't… know. Archon: [Audio Log] Then the specimen will learn true agony. |
Mission Locked - Hunting the Archon
Archon: [Audio Log] Tell me what you know of Meridian. Is that why you're here? Salarian Prisoner: [Audio Log] Meridian? I've never heard of it. We just got here. It was a long trip, and— Archon: [Audio Log] Again: tell me of Meridian. Salarian Prisoner: [Audio Log] I just explained. I don't know what that is, I— Archon: [Audio Log] Then what use are you? Salarian Prisoner: [Audio Log] What do you— (Screams.) Archon: [Audio Log] Dissect this specimen as you will. |
Mission Locked - Hunting the Archon
Primus: [Audio Log] Curious. But one lie, and that can be broken. Salarian Captive: [Audio Log] You won't break something you can still use. Primus: [Audio Log] Clever prattle. Everything serves. Salarian Captive: [Audio Log] Before, maybe. But now when I talk, you'll listen. |
Mission Locked - Hunting the Archon
Primus: [Audio Log] Where are you from? Salarian Captive: [Audio Log] A different galaxy. We call it the Milky Way. Primus: [Audio Log] Why did you come here? Salarian Captive: [Audio Log] We're settlers... just looking for a place to live. Primus: [Audio Log] Speak the truth: where is your invasion force? Salarian Captive: [Audio Log] We're not invaders! Please, who are you people? We don't mean any harm. We—wait... wait! (Screams.) |
Mission Locked - Hunting the Archon
Salarian Captive: [Audio Log] I can't tell you what I don't know! Primus: [Audio Log] You lie. Where is the one you call "Pathfinder"? Salarian Captive: [Audio Log] I don't know! Salarian Captive: [Audio Log] (Screams.) |
Mission Locked - Hunting the Archon
Archon: [Audio Log] The reports are true: strangers have arrived on our borders. Specimens we've never seen. Archon: [Audio Log] We captured a lone vessel. The occupants claim they come from another galaxy. "Milky Way," they call it. Archon: [Audio Log] A great opportunity lies before us. A treasure of fresh specimens... genetics shaped by forces outside out galaxy. Archon: [Audio Log] This could be quite the prize. |
Mission Locked - Hunting the Archon
Archon: [Audio Log] One of the specimens—a "human"—has done the impossible: it spoke to the Remnant machines. Archon: [Audio Log] By some unknown power, it enforced its will on the old technology. The machines responded. Archon: [Audio Log] The weather had changed. For years, we toiled in misery trying to understand it. And this newcomer succeeds in one day? Archon: [Audio Log] At all costs, we must obtain this specimen. The implications for Meridian are extraordinary. |
Mission Locked - Hunting the Archon
Archon: [Audio Log] Most useful in these "salarians" are their cognitive abilities. Their thought processes occur much faster than in the others. Archon: [Audio Log] There is a cleverness about them. A cunning which could be leveraged. More work is needed to isolate the genetic markers. Archon: [Audio Log] There is no shortage of specimens to choose from. |
Mission Locked - Hunting the Archon
Archon: [Audio Log] These "turian" possess a useful exoskeleton. On harsh worlds, it could prove advantageous. Archon: [Audio Log] More intriguing, there is a discipline about them—adherence to militaristic order. An effective trait for instilling obedience. Archon: [Audio Log] Additional specimens will be required for study. |
Mission Locked - Hunting the Archon
Archon: [Audio Log] The ones they call "asari"—their reproduction is a mix of biology, thought, and memories. Archon: [Audio Log] They take what they need from a species, as they should. Reproduction cannot be left to chance. The superior race dominates. Archon: [Audio Log] Yet these asari pretend otherwise. A "melding," they call it. "Embracing eternity." Biology has no use for poetry. Archon: [Audio Log] In the end, their biotic traits may prove the most useful. |
Mission Locked - Hunting the Archon
Archon: [Audio Log] Among the new specimens, the "human" is the most perplexing. They possess an emotional range which often exceeds the others. Archon: [Audio Log] Their unpredictable nature marks them as dangerous. But if the root of their passions could be isolated... Archon: [Audio Log] We must identify a champion among them, and capture it for further study. |
Mission Locked - Hunting the Archon
Archon: [Audio Log] The "krogan" are a brutish race. Which could be useful. Redundant organs and a savage temperament—made to kill. Archon: [Audio Log] Even the other specimens fear them. A deliberate genetic fault was introduced to limit the krogan population. Archon: [Audio Log] But I wonder... without this defect, they could be unstoppable. |
