A heavy semi-automatic pistol, the powerful Carnifex was the preferred choice of Milky Way mercenaries. An expensive weapon, its marketing materials featured a charging krogan alongside the tagline "Don't you wish Carnifex was at your side?"

The following augmentations cannot be applied to the Carnifex during development:

It is advised not to apply the Electrical Conduits augmentation to the Carnifex due to an automatic firing problem. (See here for details.)

The multiplayer Carnifex can be purchased with the DLC Salarian Infiltrator Multiplayer Recruit Pack.

All multiplayer specialized variant weapons are separate weapons compared to the Uncommon version.
