The mission to Ark Natanus is short. There are two containers, two scannable items (both scanned during the mission objectives), and two terminals with three entries each. There is no combat and it makes no difference which squad members accompany Ryder. The point of the mission is to determine the fate of the turian Pathfinder.

Avitus will be reluctant to take on the role of turian Pathfinder. The easiest and quickest way to convince him to do it is to be encouraging: "Yes, you can." Asking his reasons for not wanting the job will lead to the options of encouragement or leaving it up to Avitus. Choosing the confrontational tone through "I expected better from you" isn't an automatic loss—Ryder can still point out that the turians need him and Avitus will agree. Regardless of the tone used, if Ryder says it's Avitus' call, Avitus will refuse and there will only be three Pathfinders—not enough to save Captain Dunn in the final mission.
